Is green living just about using a few less plastic bags, driving a hybrid car, insulating your house and recycling? Or, is it more about a moderation of consumerist, hedonist and individualistic value systems and the enjoyment of a less materially dependent lifestyle?
Morgan is interested in exploring questions like ‘how green is green enough?’ ‘Is it OK to be conspicuously green?’ ‘Are environmentalists shooting themselves in the foot?’ and ‘shouldn’t we be exploring emotional as well as environmental well-being?’ Morgan studied for an MSc in Environmental Science, Policy and Planning at the University of Bath and graduated from there to write a PhD in Education for Sustainability at the University of Gloucestershire.
He is currently taking a break from formal academia to immerse himself in the practical side of his chosen field. Morgan designs and delivers formal and informal education for sustainability for both children and adults, he writes and (sometimes) performs songs, is working on his first book and writes a blog on sustainability at: www.becominggreen.co.uk
Morgan can offer advice on the communication of environmental issues, an exploration of the links between consumerism, well being and sustainability and a positive view of the future.
