|
We are equipped to deliver workshops in using a sewing machine, batik, screen and block printing, embroidery, felting, weaving using natural dyes and digital sublimation printing.
We source recycled fabrics and use printing and embellishing techniques. When printing on new fabrics we source fair trade and organic. We use low toxic dyes.
We can deliver both small large scale workshops. We are fully equipped to deliver workshops using traditional techniques and new technologies.
We are:
A mobile workshop service.
Designers in residence.
We utilize traditional skills and new technologies to inspire creativity in craft, fashion, and design.
We specialise in sustainability and the environmental impact of production.
Remake. Reshape. Re use- the following workshops use recycled and remnants of fabric, haberdashery and buttons, to create a new product with a make do and mend feel.
Make Time Wish Flags- This idea is based on the Tibetan prayer flags. Using remnants of fabric, buttons, block printing and fabric pens participants make a flag with their own message or picture on a theme This can be done as an individual piece and attached to a small flag stick or as a collaborative piece and strung together like bunting.
Make Time Accessory- made from remnants of fabric and haberdashery.
Remade – Participants bring an item of clothing to the workshop for this instance a T shirt would work best for a 20 min workshop. They then customise using fabric paints and haberdashery etc or heat transfer techniques( but will require power).
Format
These workshops are designed to accommodate 12 people participating at one time.
Set-up
The workshop can be set up indoors or outdoors. We provide our own gazebo, bunting, signage and equipment. We can run this workshop without power and water so we can set up in the middle of a field if required!
How it works:
Guests will be given a demonstration on how to make a wish flag and then they will start to work on their own project with art instructors on hand to guide and advise them. Projects take from between 15 to 20 minutes each to complete. All completed projects can be taken home as a great souvenir of the day
Testimonials:
National Play Week in Shepway proved to be very popular with over 600 children and young people attending the two events in Folkestone and Lydd. Francesca provided a wonderful, colourful and interactional experience for the children, as they flocked to her stand to try their hand at printing and stitching to create their own flag that they could take home. The feedback has been positive from parents and children alike. I was very impressed with the quality and variety of materials available for the children to use, and too with the professional guidance given. I would certainly use Stitch and Print again at future events. Thank you!
